We purchased 15,000 feet of top grade Australian kangaroo leather as overstock from a world famous footwear manufacturer, known for their professional-grade athletic shoes, iconic streetwear, and their instantly recognizable trefoil/three-stripes logo.
Premium Trefoil Kangaroo Leather is thin, soft, strong, and the hides are extremely clean, offering a large cutting surface and generous yield. The hides average 5-7 square feet, with a 2 ounce thickness (0.6-0.8 mm), and incredible tensile strength, even when cut down to 1/8-inch lace.
Chrome tanned for softness and durability, Trefoil Kangaroo Leather hides aren't just strong, they're also soft and beautiful, with a pigmented finish that gives them deep, rich color, with a tight, smooth grain, and a soft, flexible hand. Leather is a natural product. We strive to keep new lots within size, color, and quality tolerance, but some hides may have slight variations in size or color, or have natural imperfections such as scars or small holes.
Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
