Our Drum Dyed Water Buffalo Leather is a robust, full grain leather option tanned for durability, character, and consistent color performance. Made from premium water buffalo hides and chrome tanned for strength and flexibility, this leather features a naturally grainy pattern enhanced through a pigmented, corrected grain finishing process. Drum dyed and struck through for a rich, even color penetration throughout the hide.

Drum Dyed Water Buffalo Leather is available as a full hide averaging 35–42 square feet, or in sides (half-hides) averaging 17–21 square feet, this leather comes in a versatile 1.1–1.3 mm (3 oz) thickness with a soft to medium temper. Available in 17 color options, it is well suited for chaps, motorcycle gear, heavier apparel, handbags, upholstery, rustic, western, and accessories. With its balance of toughness, flexibility, and bold grain character, Drum Dyed

Leather is a natural product. We strive to keep new lots within size, color, and quality tolerance, but some hides may have slight variations in size or color, or have natural imperfections such as scars or small holes.

Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
