Our Alligator/Croc Embossed Veg Tan Lamb Nappa features a strong and deep, laser-cut embossing that mimics the natural beauty of alligator or crocodile hide. These skins are on the larger side for lamb hides, averaging 7-10 square feet, with a robust 2.5 ounce weight, or 0.9-1.1 millimeters. Because the hides are vegetable tanned, the embossing is crisp and deep, and the leather feels substantial and robust, with a soft nappa hand feel that breaks in beautifully.
The vegetable tanning process enhances its natural beauty and strength of the leather, while the laser-cut embossed Alligator pattern is ultra-realistic, giving the appearance of real alligator leather at a fraction of the price. Leather is a natural product. We strive to keep new lots within size, color, and quality tolerance, but some hides may have slight variations in size or color, or have natural imperfections such as scars or small holes.
Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
