About Garment Weight Full Grain Cowhide Leather

Garment Weight Full Grain Cowhide is the ideal black leather for making classic moto apparel like leather jackets, leather pants, chaps, and motorcycle accessories. Available in full hides that average 45-55 square feet, and half hides that average 20-28 square feet, with a workable 1-1.2 mm thickness (2.5-3 ounces), these hides are extremely clean, with a high yield and a massive cutting surface, making them perfect for large applications with minimal seams, such as pants and chaps, seating, and sofas.

Garment Weight Full Grain Cowhide is the same leather used by global leather goods brands to produce premium leather bags, clothing, and accessories. With a chrome tannage and a semi-aniline finish that adds a slight sheen to the natural grain, Garment Weight Full Grain Cowhide Leather is ideal for garment and apparel manufacturing, upholstery, home goods, handbags, moto gear, and accessories.

Please Note

Leather is a natural product. We strive to keep new lots within size, color, and quality tolerance, but some hides may have slight variations in size or color, or have natural imperfections such as scars or small holes.

Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
