About Pirarucu Fish Scale Embossed Cow Leather

Pirarucu Fish Scale Embossed Cow Leather is a premium chrome tanned cowhide that's been embossed with a realistic pirarucu/arapaima fish scale pattern, then dyed with a two-tone effect and aniline finish to give it incredible visual interest and a luxury appearance. This leather is the perfect way to get the exotic look of pirarucu leather but with a much bigger cutting surface and lower price. 

Pirarucu Embossed Cowhide hides average 20-25 square feet, and a 1.2-1.4 mm thickness (3 ounce), with a medium temper that makes it easy to cut and stitch. Available in four two-tone colors (brandy, brown, driftwood, tan), Pirarucu Embossed Cow Leather is ideal for handbags, footwear, cowboy boots, luxury goods & accessories.

Leather is a natural product. We strive to keep new lots within size, color, and quality tolerance, but some hides may have slight variations in size or color, or have natural imperfections such as scars or small holes.

Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
