About Oiled Pull-Up Bison Leather
Oiled Pull-Up Bison Leather combines the rugged character of full-grain American bison with a soft-medium temper and rich, responsive pull-up effect. This chrome-tanned, lightly oiled leather features a full-aniline matte finish that preserves the hide’s distinctive natural grain. Choose classic Brown or Bourbon, a warm brown with a reddish pull-up undertone.
Oiled Pull-Up Bison Leather comes in full hides averaging 35–40 square feet and half hides averaging 17–20 square feet, with a substantial 5–6 oz. thickness (2.0–2.4 mm). The rustic grain and naturally varied appearance make this leather ideal for handcrafted handbags, duffel bags, footwear, luggage, Western leather goods, accessories, and other projects that call for strong leather with a heritage-inspired look.

Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
