About Italian Veg Tan Horse Culatta Double Butts

This is not your typical horse hide. Our Italian Veg Tan Horse Culatta Double Butts Leather is a raw, powerful statement piece for any craftsman. Taken from the rear of the hide-where the grain is the tightest and the structure most defined-this veg tan horsehide leather shows off its wild side with dramatic natural markings, wrinkles, and full character.

What you see is what you get: bold, uncorrected grain with a rugged, crude elegance that sets it apart. No fillers, no embossing-just raw horsehide at its most authentic. Each hide is truly one-of-a-kind, with natural variations that make every cut unpredictable and exciting.

Ideal for high-end boots, leather goods with soul, or anyone chasing that unique patina and texture only real culatta can offer.

Please Note

Leather is a natural product. We strive to keep new lots within size, color, and quality tolerance, but some hides may have slight variations in size or color, or have natural imperfections such as scars or small holes.

Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
